Course description
A Foundation blended learning course is delivered in two parts according to a schedule defined by you:
Web-based e-learning which trains listening and reading skills and grammar vocabulary and pronunciation; and
Virtual Instructor-Led Mentoring (VILM) sessions which train the oral fluency and interaction skills demanded by the flight training environment.
Together, e-learning and VILM develop the specific language proficiencies that students need for successful English-medium flight training.
E-LEARNING
15 modules of interactive language activities which focus on: Receptive skills: Listening and reading comprehension Language competence: Pronunciation, Structure and Vocabulary |
In the e-learning, students:
Practise listening to instructors, students and training centre staff
Practise reading technical manuals and documents
Develop their grammatical and lexical competence
Develop their receptive pronunciation skills
Virtual Instructor-Led MENTORing
Group sessions which focus on: Receptive skills: Listening comprehension Productive skills: Fluency, Interactions Language performance: Pronunciation, Structure, Vocabulary |
In the VILM sessions, students:
Consolidate the language presented in e-learning
Develop their essential oral proficiency skills
Practise speaking on aviation-related subjects
Start preparing for a career in aviation
