Latitude's team discuss aviation English for pilots, presenting what we mean by 'Aviation English' in broad terms before introducing some of the work-related language use tasks that pilots perform and drilling down on aeronautical communications and the ICAO LPRs. Using examples of authentic radio communications, we look at the linkage between the target language use domain, the ICAO rating scale and the EASA non-technical skills framework, and we conclude by looking at the relationship between real life language use and aviation English training and testing.
